A Witness
He tried to pour—
his heart out to her
With his voice that
was clacking.
Carefully looking—
in his eye, she said:
"I know well, I know
how you feel but...
But I don't think—
it is time, let us wait
Wait for the truth of
me and you."
"Maybe you don't
have an idea how—
bad it aches to feel
like this." He said.
"I know, my friend
But to be honest, I—
I've no such feelings
for you." She said.
"I love you, don't—
forget that, and...
I won't forget it too."
He said, and he left.
I was there, the day
He fret and tried to
weep, but he didn't;
I was the man.
